The Highland Historical Society seeks volunteers to help us preserve and share our history. If you can spare time to help, would like to join our committee, or have items that should be digitized and added to our historical collections, please email Claudia Sudweeks at highlandhistoricalsoc@gmail.com. We have five main focuses:
*Interviewing those with the earliest memories of Highland (creating video clips from those interviews)
*Collecting and digitizing written histories and various kinds of records and memorabilia
*Building a new website to share our history and collections
*Educating our youth about our history through the schools and other venues
*Caring for our museum and assessing future needs and expansion options
We seek help from those skilled in genealogy, history, writing, editing, computer and web skills, videography and media arts, preservation, exhibit design, education, organizing people or items and information, grant processes, raising funds, and more.
