William Merritt Bliss & Mina Ellen Lewis Lockwood

Bliss was born September 28, 1905, in Burley, Idaho to William Sheldon and Luticia Isabella Kempton Day. Mina was born October 18, 1904, in Woodland, Utah to James and LaVina Leffler Lewis. They moved to Highland (Number 40 on the 1958 Highland map) in about 1930 and lived here for five years. They had two children: Keith and Max.

The children went to Harrington and American Fork High Schools and remember some of the celebrations held in Highland. Mina's oldest brother, Reuben, and his wife, Rita (q.v.), lived with their parents for a while (Number 83 on the 1958 Highland map) then moved in with the Lockwoods. Mina was a Sunday School teacher in Highland in 1932  to 1934.

They moved to American Fork in 1935 and Bliss became a bishop for a long time and was also a Stake High Councilman and a State Highway Patrolman.

They were divorced and Mina married Oscar Bohn and had two more children: Stanley and Diane. She later married Ray Cavaness. She died November 6, 1970, in American Fork.

Bliss married Norma Winona Newbold and had three more children. He died May 11, 1965, in Vallejo, California.
