Merkley

Cecil Allred & Ellen Heloise Day Merkley

The Merkleys lived briefly in Highland after their marriage on January 12, 1923, and Heloise lived here before and was a Sunday School teacher in 1918 and 1920 - 21. Cecil was born April 15, 1897, in Fairview, Wyoming to Christopher Amos and Lydia LaVette Allred Merkley. Ellen was born October 2, 1898, in Fairview, Utah to Eli Azariah and Elvira Euphrasia Cox Day, a sister to Orville Cox Day (q.v.). They had two children: Day Cecil and Elva LaVette and they divorced.

Cecil married Ercel Maud Sanders Dixon December 17, 1940. He died March 2, 1941, in Tucson, Arizona and Ellen died July 13, 1983, in Mesa, Arizona and they are buried in the Mesa City Cemetery.
