The focus of the Highland City Beautification Committee is not only to help beautify our amazing city, but also to create opportunities for residents to come together and create a sense of community.
Some of the great programs that we have, or plan to begin this coming year, are:
Adopt-a-Patch Program:
Run by amazing volunteers, these residents devote a small amount of time each week to clean debris and weeds from flower patches around town. This opportunity usually requires a quick 15 minutes every week. The majority of these flower beds are along our major roads (Alpine Highway and Highland Boulevard).
Backyard Garden Tours:
Save the date for our Highland Fling Backyard Garden Tour on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 6:00-9:00 PM. Tour three fabulous backyards to get ideas and inspiration!
Yard of the Month:
Love passing by a neighbor who has gone above and beyond to beautify their yard? Let us know and we will send them a special Thank You!
Community Service Projects:
These opportunities change according to the need. Check back in the Highland newsletter or online each month for these fun, community-involved opportunities.
Community Garden:
This is a work in progress. Let our committee know if you’re interested in being involved to start a community garden.
